Sumptuous Feast (Day)

398.5 X 1790 cm oil on canvas 1995-1998

King Zhou of the Yin Dynasty and his favorite concubine Daji filled the palace pool with liquor, decorated the woods with meat, and ordered the palace maids to unclothe their bodies for the court officials’ pleasure, as they enjoyed the “Dance of Beili”. They despised the gods and focused only on pursuing savageness and sensual pleasure.
